Kalam Research & Media (KRM) announces the the release of the first international nasheed album ("To the Guide's Chamber") and track video by the acclaimed ensemble from Libya, Bustan al-Madihin. Bustan Al-Madihin comprises 30 professional singers and musicians united in their love of the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (peace be upon him). The group, led by Sheikh Bahlul Sa‘id Abu ‘Arqoub, one of the most accomplished Libyan nasheed singers, performs Islamic devotional and inspirational songs in praise of the Prophet Muhammad. Their aesthetic precision and melodious style of rendition have touched the hearts of listeners of all ages. The group’s name, Bustan al-Madihin, or the Orchard of Devotional Singers, describes the variety of songs used in Islamic culture and civilization in praise of the Prophet (peace be upon him), not unlike the variety of hues and beautiful scents which make up an orchard.

The ensemble was formed in 1998 on the exact day the Muslim World was commemorating the birth of the Prophet. Since its formation, Bustan Al-Madihin has performed throughout Libya. With the launch of this new and exciting album, "To the Guide’s Chamber", the group brings their rich musical repertoire and soulful lyrics to a wider audience of listeners who long to be touched by the weaving of faith and poetry.

The album was recorded in Syrian where Bustan Al-Madihin collaborated with the renowned
Saad Al-Hussainy, the composer of the popular Arab television series "Bab al-Hara", and with Russian expert Victor Babinko from the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus.

Accompanying this album Bustan Al-Madihin has produced a video of the track, “To the Guide’s Chamber”, with one of the leading Syrian producers
Muhammad Bayazid. Bustan Al-Madihin is a member of the prestigious Libyan Artists League in Tripoli.

The album will be on sale at leading retail outlets worldwide from November 2010.

  • Condemnation on Bombing of Coptic Church

Kalam Research and Media (KRM) expresses its full disgust and condemnation at the tragic attack on the innocent worshippers in the Saints Church in Alexandria, Egypt, on New Year's Eve. Such barbaric acts go against all the sacred religious, spiritual and legal traditions of the Abrahamic faiths. All men and women of faith need to stand firmly against such hatred and cowardly acts that aim at nothing but the igniting of sectarian and religious hatred. We pray for the families of those murdered and injured, and we urge Muslims and Christians and their respective institutions of authority in civil society to work in partnership and with renewed commitment to maintain and strengthen national and religious unity.    Statements from Muslim and Christian Leaders 1.
