KRM visit to the Grand Mufti of EgyptKRM visit to the H.E. the Grand Mufti of Egypt [12/04/2010, Cairo] Dr Aref Nayed, Director of Kalam Research & Media, accompanied a Libyan delegation headed by H.E. Dr. Muhammad Ahmed al-Sharif, General Secretary of the World Islamic Call Society to visit H.E. the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Sheikh Dr Ali Gomaa at the Dar al-Ifta Al-Misriyyah offices in Cairo. During the congenial visit in which H.E. the Grand Mufti shared much knowledge and wisdom, Dr Nayed reiterated the commitment of the Head of the Uthman Pasha Madrasa of Tripoli Libya and its staff to the authentic Azhari line of Muslim scholarship. He informed the Grand Mufti that the senior Libyan scholars, associated with the Uthmani madrasa, were delighted with the Ijazah that he had granted to the Head of the Madrasa, Sheikh Abdul Majid al-Saghyyir on a recent visit. That Ijazah constituted a renewal of the Azhari Isnad of the Uthman Pasha Madrasa that goes back to Sheikh Muhammad Kamil bin Mustafa, at the turn of the twentieth century. Sheikh Usama al-Sayyid, an Azhari scholar and Senior Fellow of KRM, explained the full Isnad, and mentioned that it is fully explicated in the forthcoming book: Asanid al-Misryyin.
